First Evening in Hong Kong

Since my dad lives in China, my siblings thought it was a great idea for us to experience the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. It'll be hot, humid and more than a bit polluted, but we figured that this was a once in a lifetime experience and something that we had to do. All my sibs except A, who is the brother immediately after me, flew to Hong Kong to meet up with my dad. K's boyfriend B also joined us for the trip. We'll spend 3 days in Hong Kong, and watch the opening ceremony on big screen. Then another 2-3 days at my dad's beach view apartment in Zhu Hai, and then we're off to Beijing where we'll see 5 events: boxing, judo, water polo, beach volleyball and rhythmic gymnastics (yeah, the one with the ribbons).

We got into Hong Kong in the evening, checked into our hotel and then dashed out to eat a quick meal of congee and noodle soup before retiring to rest up for the next day. (More info in the food blog of what we ate.) Below are some shots of us at the HK airport. You'll notice that my middle brother, BW, likes to ham it up with my sister, K. They like to pose for what we call, "photo actor" shots. They're legends in their own minds...but it's always fun to take their pictures and then laugh at them later. I have to admit, they're getting pretty good at these poses. =)





These shots are all taken as we are queuing up (IE: lining up) for a taxi to take to the hotel. There are 6 of us total, including my dad. We didn't all fit into one taxi cab.

** mental note, I need to upload my South East Asia pics into my new flickr account and then link it in case anyone was interested. yeah yeah, I lag. =) That's why I'm trying to stay on top of things for this trip.
